A long long time ago there was a large empire called Egypt. Their leaders were called pharaohs and usually ruled as long as they lived. One example is Rameses the Great who ruled for around 60 years.
The pharaoh had workers who would work very hard to build a huge triangular shaped pyramid especially for him. It was made of more than two million stones, weighing two and a half tons, piled one upon another. A room is left inside where the pharaoh was buried when he died. This is where he was buried when he died.
The pharaoh was put into a sarcophagus that was shaped like his body. The front was engraved with his face, painted and coated with gold. It was put in a room within the pyramid along with things that he had used while alive.
